Blogged in internet marketing by Jeff G Hill Sunday August 29, 2010

What does it take to be a successful Affiliate Marketer? What are the ingredients of an affiliate marketing success story? Is there a shortcut to Affiliate Marketing glory? All these questions play around in the minds of affiliate marketers who want to make it big. Although affiliate marketing is said to be one of the easiest ways to earn money online, it’s not as easy as it sounds. The cleaver affiliate marketer will plan every action and execute it to the best of his ability. He will also maximize potential earnings by utilizing the correct tools and resources that are necessary to succeed in this business. We have consulted with a few of the most successful affiliate marketers around and below are the top three tools for a successful affiliate marketing business.

Important Tool #1 – Your Own Website: The most important tool is your own website. The first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a credible and professional looking website. This will be the starting point of all your marketing efforts. Therefore, you must first build a user-friendly website, which will appeal to your market and encourage them to click on the links to the products you are promoting. So, the first thing you need to do is concentrate your efforts on building a website that will offer your market what it needs.

One of the most important things that you need to consider is that almost all web users go online to look for information, and not necessarily to buy something. Above all else, make your website full of original, relevant and useful content. People love quality content and on the internet content is still king, good content will not only build your credibility, it will also help you to gain higher search engine ranking and generate free traffic. Establishing a good reputation is the first step in building a loyal consumer base.

Important Tool #2 – Incentives: The internet is an extremely competitive world. You need to be one-step ahead of your rivals to make sure that you get significant share of your market. Therefore, you must use everything within you power to encourage people to visit your website click through to the websites of the products you are promoting. If you build an opt-in email list you can gather prospects information. Offering a newsletter or better yet, offer incentives to your prospects to encourage them to subscribe to your newsletters. You can give them free software, training videos and other freebies that they will find helpful. This will build trust and when you email them information on new products you are promoting they are much more likely to buy.

Important Tool #3: Link Popularity: Once you have set up your website you are going to need traffic, unfortunately ‘build it and they will come’ doesnt apply here. It cannot be emphasized enough how important it is to drive highly targeted traffic to your site. Attracting the right people should be the first step you take. Do everything you can to achieve a high search engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that search engines use to determine search engine rankings. The more links you have pointing to you site, the more popular you site is. Therefore, to enhance your link popularity, you must launch an aggressive link building campaign.

One of the best ways to do this is by submitting articles with links back to your website in the resource box. You will not only gain exposure, you will also have the opportunity to advertise for free. The more sites you submit your articles to, the better your link popularity becomes. If your articles are original, relevant and useful more websites will pick it up and post them creating even more links.

These are just three of the many tools that you as an affiliate marketer need to use to maximize your earning potential. The possibilities are endless and are limited only by your imagination, creativity, resourcefulness and determination.

How To Use Web Analytics

Blogged in internet marketing by Justin Harrison Thursday October 29, 2009

In case you have a website, and want to know who is visiting it, you will need a web analytics tool. Of course, you could directly check the log and understand the behavior of users on your website. However, if there are too many records to read through, it can be a daunting task. A web analytics tool is a perfect piece of software that will give you the regular reports about who is visiting your website and how many times. You however need to know, how to use this utility effectively. Following is the explanation of the same.

Firstly, you need to collect the data. In case you have a web analytics tool, it may well be collecting all the logs for you. You must remember to include all the parts of your website that may be collecting the data. Such parts may include CGI logs, Web logs, forms (email requests), and any other data that your website may be generating.

The next step would be to transform the collected data into an understandable format that can be manipulated further. Reviewing the log file manually could be a hectic task. A web analytics tool would serve well here, making it easy to convert the collected data into understandable data. However, if some of your data is in the non-web log format like CGI, you will need to covert it yourself.

Now that you have all the data available to you, in an easy to understand format; you need to start your analysis. This should be the most interesting part of your web analytics task. What you should be looking for is the trend in your web traffic. Following are some of the points to figure out the trend:

Do more visitors visit your site at a specific time? Which of your pages are the most commonly visited ones? How many pages does a visitor visit on an average? For how long does a visitor stay in the site? How much traffic do you get from the search engines? What are the exit pages of your website? Who has linked to your website?

Once you have completed the analysis of your website, you need to asses the reports and set new bench marks for the improvement. You must make action plans and execute them well. You may want to add more business ads to your hot pages, and promote the pages that are not very frequently viewed. Identify the weak points and improve upon them. Your aim must be to cash in on your strong points, and improve on the weak ones.

Your visitors must know what changes you have made to your website. For this, you will need to promote your website in a way that your updates are highlighted. Unless people know about the improvements, it serves no good.

You would need to repeat the above discussed procedure on regular basis. This procedure is an ongoing exercise that you must do always.

The Cost of a Click in Pay Per Click Marketing

Blogged in internet marketing by Sean Galusha Thursday July 9, 2009

Online advertising has been a major component of the internet. Online advertisements may be in the form of banners or text links. For an owner of a website, hosting these ads are means to compensating his efforts in making his website and giving information in his site.

Putting ads on website also gives the website owner an opportunity to make money from his website. Pay per click is even one moneymaking venture in the internet that can be participated in by website owners. It is important to take note though that making money through pay per click depends on the clicks to the ads posted in your site and not just by merely posting them.

In pay per click, the number of clicks represents how many consumers online are interested on the product or the business being advertised, thus business owners pay website owners every time their ads are being clicked.

However, the rate or the cost of one click is determined in two ways in pay per click marketing. One way is using a flat rate and the other one is using the bid-based rate.

In the flat rate method, the business owner and the website owner agrees on a rate or the cost of each click. Most often, the advertiser will have a list of rates for every webpage that his ad will appear. These rates are usually dependent on the relevance of a particular webpage to the advertiser’s ad and the ability of its content to attract site visitors that would become potential customers to the business.

The cost of a click can also be determined through bidding. In the bid-based pay per click approach, the website owner, or even a search engine in the case of Google Adwords, will allow the advertisers to bid for the maximum amount they are willing to pay for a click in a given ad spot. If they win the bidding, the cost of the click is the amount that the advertiser offered to pay.

Using pay per click marketing in advertising a business online has no standard rates when it comes to the cost per click of an ad. The rate is generally based on how much a business owner is willing to pay per click of his ad in a particular ad spot – may it be in search engines or other websites. One important thing in pay per click though is that, a good number of visitors to a website would mean you could bargain a higher cost per click of an ad posted in the site.

Do You Want To Create Residual Income?

Blogged in internet marketing by Louis-Charles Martel Thursday July 9, 2009

When funds are tight, there are many ways to create residual income. One method is to have somebody create a website from which you can run your home business, which will be known as a plug-in profit site. You’ll just have to promote the website and the services in order to see extra money come in. It’s a relatively easy option for people who don’t have a lot of time, but are familiar enough with the internet and business to use them to their full potential.

Some of the most successful online businesses you’ll find are plug-in profit sites. They made it to where they are today because their owners know how to market them. You’ll have to learn this as well if you want to get anywhere. If you don’t put in the required effort, your website will never get off the ground. But if you do, it will greatly reward you for a long time to come.

Part of the reason you need an audience and to make money is so you can pay back the person who actually made the website. You wouldn’t want to do all that work and get nothing for it. But that’s the position he’ll be in if you can’t afford their services after you didn’t get any profit from your site. In this way, marketing protects your image.

At the same time, your creator isn’t just going to sit around do nothing when he’s done with the website, either. Since your promotion is in his best interest, there’s a good chance he’ll help you with it using his own resources. There should be a lot of hit-inducing links available through affiliate programs that are open to him. When you work with him, you too get the benefit of these programs in helping the website along.

With this extra help, you have much less to worry about. Promoting your website is not a sole effort. But you will need to be the biggest player. It’s up to you to use affiliate programs, so take advantage of them. More importantly, look at what else you can do because doing the bare minimum will be evident to everyone who visits the site.

Use various methods to teach yourself about marketing. In the meantime, you’ll want to know how the affiliate programs you’re getting hooked up with actually work. Many people will come to your site, and from there some will actually use the same system and sign up with the program as well. This should lead to increased profits that you’ll get in the form of monthly checks.

Make it a point to get a newsletter you can use to contact lots of people at once and get messages out to your customers. Auto responders, offered by several different programs, are another way to help with this undertaking.

Registration is usually simple, and is the first step in getting your web site going. Just think of all the time you’ve saved over having to do everything your creator did on your own time. When you see the results, you’ll be very pleased with your plug-in profit site.

5 Easy Steps To Getting Accepted Into The best CPA Networks

Blogged in internet marketing by Bryan R Holden Wednesday July 8, 2009

A CPA network is an affiliate network in which commission is paid based on the actions performed which could be as simple as generating a lead such as an email address, credit card number, phone number and not just sales or revenue sharing as in the case of other affiliate programs. Getting accepted into the best CPA affiliate networks is often quite difficult and requires some preparation unlike most of the other affiliate programs which provide automatic acceptance. Let us examine what needs to be done to get accepted into the best CPA affiliate networks.

1.You need to join more than one CPA Network, so you should study all them carefully and select at least three of them, to submit your application to. This is because you will probably want to choose from a good selection of offers and not all the CPA networks offer the same ones.

2.Have a look around the net for their websites (search Google) and fill-up their application form live. Do your preparation before you answer the interview questions asked while filling out the application. Take your time there is no rush, keep a copy of your replies.

3.Once you have submitted the application form, remain patient and wait for a week or about ten days but not too long. In case you do not hear from them, give them a call and most of them would accept you immediately as it would enunciate that you are really interested and serious about their business. So, do not sit back and relax hoping that you will get a call some day later as it might delay or put an end to your chances of being accepted. Lay out a strong marketing plan for your affiliate marketing explaining the factors as to how you can be beneficial to them in promoting their business. A good marketing plan is really vital to be accepted.

4.Get the advice from other CPA sellers who had been productive and successful. The internet is a rich source of reading and you can visit few great internet sites to research the methods and strategies that would help you be a winner.

5.Once you had put forward your application program to CPA networks, you will get a call from them. Do your preparation before you are ready to answer their telephone call. The conversation betwixt you and the company from CPA networks at this stage plays a elementary role in being admitted. You really do need to be prepared.

Be organized to expect questions like: How much traffic do you get to your site per month? What methodology do you take to get traffic and whether you have internet sites or blogs to get traffic? What other aspects of affiliate marketing have you dealt with? How long have you been in this business sector? What kind of offers or categories would you prefer to promote? Have you been admitted by any other networks earlier?

Communication is the key to reach success in the field of CPA affiliate marketing and get comfortable in chatting with people. Tell them that you will be applying to Pay-per-click search engines like Google, MSN, yahoo etc. You can also tell them that you will use Face book Advertisement to push the products. Make them conscious that you have learned the techniques of marketing the CPA offers from various references on the net.

Once you had convinced the CPA affiliate networks that you are competent of getting results their company wants, and make money by pushing their products successfully, there is no reason not to be included by them.

Proven Marketing Tips For Any Small Business

Blogged in internet marketing by Michael Fleischner Monday July 6, 2009

With more than two decades of experience in marketing, Internet marketing, and working with small businesses, Ive seen my share of unsuccessful and successful marketing campaigns. Regardless of the marketing discipline, online advertising, direct mail, etc., basic marketing principle stand the test of time.

Even though Internet marketing has changed a great deal over the last decade, the basic principles remain the same. Despite the consistent nature of basic marketing principles, many marketers, web site owners, and small businesses do not use the best marketing techniques for generating profitable campaigns. This is generally due to a belief that newer is better. However, this is not true. In fact, a focus on what works is always the best. Here are some marketing tips that I’ve discovered work again and again.

Segmentation above all else. Successful campaigns get that way because marketers know their audience. They understand their needs, how to help meet those needs and how to create demand. Knowing and understanding your audience through proper market segmentation means a well targeted campaign that gets results.

The offer is very important. The offer you make to prospective buyers is one of the most important aspects of any marketing piece. Direct marketing studies have proven that the offer accounts for about forty percent of the buying decision. Don’t spend your time in a way that doesn’t give all your time to design or copy without considering your offer first.

Split testing. The concept of split testing is pretty simple but surprisingly, few ever do it. When you split test a post card or jump page, you determine which version produces the better result. Each time you test a single element so that you continue to improve results over the long term. This is time and money well invested.

Rely on a team. It doesn’t matter what you know or what you can accomplish on your own. In marketing, you need a team. Develop a group of individuals with a diverse set of marketing abilities but share a similar marketing philosophy. This will strengthen the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns and produces very good results.

Don’t sell on price. I’ve seen so many marketers fail because they sell on price alone. This often leads to a discounting war, lower profitability, and often financial losses. Rather, focus on creating so much value that the price becomes insignificant to the value you are creating for the prospect.

Keep your messages consistent. Consider the entire user experience before you launch a campaign. From email to website to promotional offer, ask yourself if the prospect having a consistent user experience. If they are, your campaigns stands above 98% of others.

Build customer relationships. Marketing doesn’t end once a sale is made. In fact, more emphasis should be placed on building relationships with existing clients. This can often create significantly more revenue at a much lower cost. Think about how you’ll grow your customer relationships and invest your marketing budget. This is an investment that you can’t afford to overlook.

Test all of your marketing. No marketing should ever be done without a firm understanding of you’re testing all aspects of your campaign. Testing is essential for marketing success. As you build upon early successes of your campaigns your results continue to grow.

Use integrated marketing. You cant rely on one form of marketing to carry your campaigns to certain success. Its okay to generate many of your leads or sales through pay-per-click marketing for example but what happens when your leads start to decline? Use multiple media sources to achieve your goals.

Create your own experience. Many small business owners or website owners read a book and think they’re an expert. Nothing could be further from the truth. The best results I create have always come from my own experience. As you try new things, you learn what works with your audience and what doesn’t. Nothing can replace the actual experience you get by doing things on your own.

If you want to succeed with your next marketing campaign, consider these basic marketing tips before you brand out. Basic strategies well executed can generate positive results. Stick with what has worked for you in the past and build on those results. Success comes with sustained and persistent efforts.
