Make Money Blogging – Basic Bootcamp and Starter Tips

Blogged in blogging by alexander Wednesday July 15, 2009

You’ve come to this page looking For info & training about blogging,.. specifically how to supercharge your blogging to make money.

You want to be able to put some simple key strategies to work for you making money.

I’lI talk about the proven strategies I’ve put to work that made me money and tell you how to take your blogging to the next money making level.

So let’s start with the simplest basics.

First you have to have a topic or subject matter you’re going to be talking/blogging about.

What you’ll want to do (and what I do) is sit down and write out a list of things that interest you.

Just by being here I know you have an interest in blogging because you probably have some (or many) ideas floating around in your head that you feel would be money makers.

So you’re here to find out if they’re viable.

1 or 2 may be viable right out of the gate. But maybe none of your original ideas will pass the necessary tests:

1. competition,

2. keywords,

3. number of daily searches,

4. potential readers interested in your topic, and

5. what you are going to do to bring in the money.

So now that you have your list of ideas you’ll have to pare it down to find out which one(s) might work. To start paring it down first you’ll go to a keyword tool. I use and suggest you start with Wordtracker’s free tool.

Wordtracker Gtrends Tool

This is a really cool secret tool. It hasn’t been publicized. It gives you quite an accurate view on how many searches per day are happening and how many clicks you can expect when you’re in the #1 google position. The #2 position gets 66% of clicks that #1 gets, and #3 gets 66% of clicks that #2 gets.

Of course you want to search all the potential keywords your readers and people interested in your topic would use to find you. Include every keyphrase that is relevant. Really get into the mind of your readers. Dig deep.

Next what you’ll want to do (and what I do) is use those keywords in a google search. Look toward the upper right corner to see how many competing pages are in google for that particular key phrase. Quick tip: those with 100,000 pages or less in google are best to go after.

They are easier to get your site ranked on the 1st page of google. In case you didn’t know only sites that are on the first page will get any visitors. The top 3 positions get 70-80% of all clicks.

Once you have 3-4 keyphrases that meet the requirements I’ve outlined here (or your own adjusted criteria if you have more internet experience and are confident going after more competitive terms) you have a phrase that is worth testing.

You’ll want to look at the top sites in google and also any advertiser sites in the paid area. Ads are a good sign because you know when people are spending money then they are making money.

I won’t go into all the details because it is beyond the scope of this article but you’ll want to look into the number and quality of their links, age of their domain and how their pages look.

You have a frame work now to setup your blog. You should go with a free host at the start. Because you’ll want to test out whether your market is a money maker before you spend money on a domain.

Once you know people will click your ads or buy some products then you may decide to buy your own domain web address, hosting account and setup your blog. Until then I recommend quickly getting a google account and using blogger.com or weebly.com or blog.com . These platforms seem to perform well in google.

You’ll setup your look and feel of your site and then do some research for info you can use to write about your topic.

Of course you’ll want to make 1 or 2 posts to your blog to break the ice, get things started, and give your visitors valuable Info to read.

Now that your blog is setup you have to make some money. The basic ways to make money are through ads, selling ad space, selling leads, selling affiliate products, or selling your own products.

You can sign up for a google adsense or yahoo private network ad account. Or you can look for an affiliate product on Clickbank to sell.

Quick secret tip to get a google adsense account. Google has cracked down and denied people accounts because of the low quality of some sites that were using google ads. There’s a quality score and system now to qualify to get an account.

So here’s how you get one almost guaranteed (worked for me and all the friends I know who used this). Use your google account to sign into blogger.com (google owns blogger).

Setup your blog here and post one 300-500 word article per day that you’ve written about your topic. It has to be original content so you write it or pay someone else to write it for you.

After 14 straight days of posts log into your blogger admin area, click on the “settings” link, then click “template” tab, then “add a page element” link, then click “adsense add to blog” button, next screen you’ll hit “continue” button, confirm your email, fill out your info and follow the instructions.

It took them 6 days to get my account to me. I believe it can take anywhere from 3-7 days for the adsense team to look at your blog and approve your account.

This is the highest chance way you have to get approved for adsense so if you want to have ads on your blog I urge you to get your adsense account this way.

Once you have that setup you’ll want to do some things that can bring people immediately to your site and also increase your google ranking.

You can start by posting your site at zimbio.com. You can add me as a friend or contact and post your blog to these communities for more exposure mybloglog.com , and blogcatalog.com .

You can ‘add to favorites’ or ‘write a recommendation for this site’ for me here at entrecard.com which is a really cool digital business card site that allows you to leave ‘footprints’ on blogs you visit and earn credits to show your blog to members more.

If you haven’t figured it out yet…communities are very important to your blogging profits. You must make friends and contacts to survive and thrive on the internet right now and moving forward.

Also you can become my friend and bookmark your site on del.icio.us and stumbleupon.com . Stumbleupon is widely recognized as the best, most active community for social promotion and the highest converting!

There are many more ways to promote your site including the business networking community where you can get your free 25 min video and free ebook of blogging strategies.

I have known Greg Meares the creator of this money getting system for over 6 months and have been very impressed with his results, time management and honesty. Right upfront he told me blogging for money was going to take work… in the beginning a lot of work.

But the rewards are great and I figured learning from a guy who manages 23 niche blogs, keeps them fresh, and provides great value to his readers who reward him with each of his blogs earning between $63 and $617 per week per blog.

It’s always good to find someone getting the results you want by doing what you want.

Take a look at this money getting system now . You’ll be glad you did because you’ll discover the in-depth map to make money blogging.

To be a good website internet marketing site owner you’ve got to be able to do a few things really well. Then just do those few things (by few I mean 2-4 base web marketing activities) over and over again. Rinse and repeat as they say.

Get your process down where your an expert, then devote the needed time each day to repeating it. You could be doing a blog post 5-6 times a week, buidling links in directories, submitting articles to article directories, or posting answers and being helpful in various forums and web2.0 sites or communities that are relevant to your topic.

One thing that is absolutely essential to your success is the best tools. Time is your biggest asset (you pessimists would say enemy). So using your time to the fullest is paramount.

You probably already know that people’s eyes are drawn to pictures. That is just a fact. So you want to have multimedia (pictures of you, cool pics of landmarks or events like sunsets, videos, audio, and the tool I’m about to show you).

As you can see that is a comic strip and I made it very easily at a comic strip generating site. The site has pre-made images you can use, bubbles to put text in, and you can easily move these elements around within the frame so it looks the way you want it to.

The customization and ease of use makes this site something I’ll be using much more. It can really liven up your posts and your marketing. The eye being drawn to pictures and all you’ll want to make immediate and consistent use of comic strips.
